Principal Recipients (PRs)

Principal Recipients (PRs) are organizations that implement the country programs supported by Global Fund grants. They are selected by the CCM.

Eswatini PRs:

National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA)

The National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA) is a government parastatal that provides leadership in the coordination and facilitation of the multi-sectoral emergency response to HIV and AIDS in Eswatini. NERCHA is implementing Global Fund financed programs in all three diseases, and COVID19.

Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations, (CANGO)

The Coordinating Assembly of Non-Governmental Organisations, (CANGO) was established in 1983 primarily as a network for NGOs working in Primary Health Care in Swaziland. CANGOs overall mandate as an umbrella body is to ensure a well-functioning and coordinated civil society. Through Global Fund financing, CANGO is implementing programs in HIV/AIDS and TB in the country, as well as COVID19..

Grants Portfolio

Currently Eswatini has grants under the CCM PRs. NERCHA is implementing TB, HIV and COVID-19 grants which started October 2021 and will end September 2024. NERCHA is also implementing a Malaria grant which runs from January 2021 to December 2023. CANGO is implementing TB, HIV and COVID-19 grant which also started in October 2021 to September 2024.

Under the grant portfolio there are sub receipients and implementers managed by the PRs. Under CANGO there is Baylor Clinic, World Vision, Health Plus for Men (HP4M) and the Ministry of Education for Life Skill Education(LSE). Under NERCHA there are Ministry of Health Programs: National TB Control Program(NTCP), Eswatin National AIDS Program(ENAP), Monitoring And Evaluation(M&E), National Health Laboratory Services(NHLS), National Malaria Program(NMP) and lastly COVID-19 Response.

The CCM provides overrall oversight on the grant with clear support of the Oversight committee.
